Be Respectful and polite to everyone.

Be Honest. It is possible to cheat, but I assume that you are honest young adults.  If you cheat, you will be cheating yourself.

Be Punctual and Prepared.  If you are tardy, according to school rules the tardy must be made up within five (5) school days.

I have a few calculators that can be used in class, but they are on a first come first serve basis.  Calculators may be used on a test or quiz, but not shared during a quiz or a test.

Be Attentive: electronic devices, including music devices and cell phones are not allowed in class, will be confiscated if seen or heard in class, keep them in your backpacks, please.

Each student has a participation card.  When the card is handed in at the end of class, the student receives points for the day.  If a student is not cooperative the card may be taken and the points not awarded for the day.  If a student is asked to leave the class for disruption, the student does not receive credit for that days classwork.

I assign homework frequently and the work is due the next day. And please remember that the amount of effort you put into your homework will have a direct impact on your grade.

Work that is assigned in class must be completed and kept in the student notebook also kept in class.  If an assignment is not finished, it is required that the student go back and complete it.

All daily work must be kept in the notebook including any graded work and handouts.

Quizzes, Tests, and Final Exam

You will have graded assignments, quizzes and tests.  You will recognize them by the number of points they are worth.  The grade will be will be computed as the percent of points earned out of possible points. Your final exam will count 10% of your final grade..

If you are absent on a test or quiz day, a zero will be entered for your grade. You have the opportunity to make up the test only if your absence is excused.  The test must be taken on the day of your return if you were absent only on the day of the test.  For longer absences any test or work missed must be made up after one week’s time.  Arrangements to make up missed work must be made within 2 school days of your return.

Grade Breakdown

The following rubric will be used to calculate your grade:

Final Grade -       Exam 10%, Semester Average 90%
