Simple Rules
| 1. | Be Respectful and polite to everyone. |
| 2. | Be Honest. It is possible to cheat, but I assume that you are honest young adults. If you cheat, you will be cheating yourself. |
| 3. | Be Punctual and Prepared. Tardies, according to school rules must be made up within five (5) school days. Chronic lateness will result assigned detentions. If absent for one day, work due on that day must be handed in on the day of return. If an absence lasts for more than one day, you are required to see Mrs. Barocas at the end of class on the day of return to arrange for missed work. |
| 4. | Be diligent in using only those websites that have been assigned for use in class that day. Using time in class for email, sports information, or games is prohibited. Also, do not change any settings. Disciplinary action will be taken if this request is not heeded. These rules, as well as others, are also stated in the NHS Computer Use Policy which all students will sign at the start of the school year. |
| 5. | Be Attentive: electronic devices, including music devices and cell phones are not allowed in class, will be confiscated if seen or heard in class, keep them in your backpacks, please. |
| 6. | Expect to have academic work in class everyday. It is very possible that you ( or your group ) will be assigned work on an individual basis. Some individuals ( or groups ) may complete the assigned work before others in the class. If this is the case, it is expected that you will bring other academic work to class so that class time may be used effectively for you education. |
| .7. | Be diligent about not bringing food into the computer lab. Water, in a closed container may be brought in, but must be kept either on the floor or the tables in the center of the lab. |
Quizzes, Tests, and Final Exam
On many days, students
will be working on different projects, either individually or in groups.

class will account for a 10% effort grade. Each student will take online

At
the end of each module a quiz is provided. The results of each of these
module assessments will be added into your test average. Other components
of the test average will include quizzes on readings, including "Generation
Debt" by Carmen Wong Ulrich. CNN's online resource "Money 101" will be used
as a basis for project which include analyzing the content to produce posters,
quiz questions and powerpoint presentations. Other projects will include
video production and digital poster production in cooperation with the Media
Arts Department.
Grades will be computed as follows Effort- 10%, Written Tests and Quizzes- 40%, Hands on Project- 40%, Final Exam- 10%
