 ~ Artist Statement ~

I enter my studio with no preconceived plan of what the day will bring.  For me, it is the process of spreading out torn papers, old letters, scraps from old books, gold leaf, and collected ephemera, that is very stimulating.  I am a printmaker, and monoprints I've done in the past and want to rework are added to the mix.  Inspiration comes by way of moving these papers, color against color, text and texture, until I am content with the resulting composition.  I often use clear wax as a way of "veiling" the finished artwork. My work is small and intensely personal; my hope is that viewers will look closely and feel that it speaks to them, too.
